It may seem like eternity since we last visited with Jay Shearer of Bright Star Antiques, but it really hasn’t.  Jay’s been busy putting together another fabulous auction that’s spread through three buildings.  He starts off Thursday evening with an on-line auction only filled with architectural pieces ... patio furniture and garden statuary ... old barn doors ... vintage signs and more.  If you’re interested in previewing any of the items, Jay will be open all week starting May 1st.

Session 1 starts Friday morning in the Barn where you’ll find an abundance of antique and vintage cabinets ... butcher blocks ... industrial carts ... carnival signs ... and more.  Everything Jay’s collected from his favorite “Pick’n Holes” is good enough to be in most auctions, but not one of his.  It’s Barn Fresh and definitely good enough for most collectors.  But for those who want the best selection and quality, it’s Session 1.5 in the Out Building Friday Afternoon and Session 2.0 in The Gallery starting Saturday morning.

Session 2.0 – The Gallery
It’s the prettiest collection of antique farm tables and chairs ... concrete figures (from adorable animals to religious figures) ... weathervanes and corbels ... and long counters with grain bins from once thriving small town mercantiles ... we’ve seen at Jay’s Auction since we began attending.  With so much available, Fred and I still have our favorites ... the antique carousel horses ... the giant metal stars ... and tall seed display stand.  Of course, we both still love the metal oil and gas, farm, and soft drink signs for “Fresh Eggs,” ... MobilOil ... “Borden’s Ice Cream” ... “Coca-Cola” ... and a plethora of others.  It really does take us back to a slower more relaxed time far from the speed of today’s technology.  Before you spend all your time (and money) in The Gallery, don’t overlook ...

Session 1.5 – The Out Building
From the moment I walked through the door I was captivated by the RED PEGASUS!  It’s a fabulous piece for collectors of art work or Petroliana.  The high bidder on the Pegasus is going home with the STAR of the AUCTION in my mind.  But I’m not worried if it’s not me.  There’s the blue B.F. Goodrich letters ... the large commercial size coffee grinder ... or the painted mantle straight out of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.  The Out Building has such unique treasures I may never leave.

3-Days ... Incredible Antiques ... Collectibles you may never see again ... It all makes for another BRIGHT STAR ANTIQUES CO. must-see event starting May 1st in Sulphur Springs, TEXAS.
