Marilyn is home from her shopping trip to California with the most outstanding handbags ever to grace her booth or any.  But before she could show off the newest collection of vintage Georges of Paris, Comtesse (including one used as a prototype), Guy La Roche of Paris, acrylic handbags, and even an acrylic clutch, she was off on another buying trip with Steven Porterfield.  In addition to her non-stop shopping adventure, she and Steven headed to a “shoot” of the Antiques Roadshow that will air in early 2018.  When Marilyn finally landed home, she and I finally met up to share some girl talk and the incredible collection of vintage handbags, jewelry, and clothing.

We started off in the handbag cases with pieces that are incredible in their styling and workmanship ... soft leathers, rich coloring, near perfect condition.  And to think they were made in the early 60's.  The ones from the Comtesse line came from a very special woman in California who was a young girl when her mother and Elizabeth Taylor were close friends.  Several of the bags actually belonged to Elizabeth Taylor, but Marilyn will have to share those details.  If you’re wondering my favorite of all the bags ... a two toned brown alligator.  It’s a classic.  But I certainly love several others as well ... especially the acrylic clutch and the gold and silver rope bag.

You can see from the pics I’ve chosen that there’s plenty more to tell you regarding Marilyn’s buying spree, but we’ll leave that for next week.  You’re love the latest and greatest costume jewelry craze!  CHECK BACK NEXT WEEK!
